Bite Size Cream Puff Desert

I love being served bite size desserts when out for dinner. My idea of a good dinner is not about being filled up like a stuffed Christmas Turkey, instead having lighter courses that electrify your senses.

A few days ago I had dinner at a friend's house and was served the sweetest tinny dessert in a cup and just had share the idea!

The dessert was a little cream puff served with whipped cream,  raspberries and mint. So simple right?
Trust me, it is a single bite of heaven and truly a must try.

Dandoy: Not only for good kids

One of my favourite places to get pressies in Brussels, Belgium is Dandoy. Founded in 1829, they still carry their legacy until today.

They are notoriously known for their speculoos cookies, all 100% natural ingredients.
Not only are the cookies to die for, but their packing is adorable, always making for a great present.

Spicy Burritos

I had a lovely relaxing weekend, filled with easy dishes and good wine.

Last night we made spicy burritos, served with a glass of cold strawberry red wine sangria and just had to share. Hope you will get inspired to wrap up a hot mexican fiesta this week.

Restobieres

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of eating at the Restobieres restaurant in Brussels. A true must try if you come to Brussels.

The restaurant has a beer theme, with every traditional food made with a different kind of Belgian beer. From sausages, cheese croquettes to waffles. I also enjoyed the lovely traditional decorations, which really tied in with the theme!

Maputo Market

One of my favourite things to do when I go to Maputo, Mozambique is to visit the colourful markets.

The art is beautifully inspiring and crafty. From the many designs and shapes of the capulanas to the smooth and silky wooden sculptures and smells.

A great way to spend an afternoon!

Herby Tomato and Ricotta Parcels

I love making little parcels for delicious light lunches for friends and family. They are non-fuss and quick to make. So are great if you are short on time.

A few days ago I filled them with tomatoes, ricotta and herbs and served them with a light salad and hummus. They were truly Yum Yum.

To make the parcels I placed three thin sheets of pastry in a cupcake tray, drizzled with olive oil and placed in the oven until they were formed. Approximately 5 minutes.

Each parcels was then filled with fresh oregano, garlic, olive oil, tomatoes, ricotta, salt and pepper. Placed back in the oven for another 5 to 10 minutes.  Viola...There you have it!

The little parcels were served with homemade hummus and a light salad. The salad was made of corn, rocket, cucumber and tomatoes with a balsamic vinaigrette. Simple and Bright.
